Medical Student Research Mentor Application
Join our 7-week mentorship program from February 22 to April 9!
Wn partnership with UMass Chan Medical School, Patients R Waiting is seeking 10 medical students to serve as Research Mentors for the second half of Pipeline Dreams High School, our research program for high school students pursuing careers in medicine. Research Mentors work alongside our college Teaching Assistants to guide student research groups as they design, refine, and present original research posters at our Student Research Expo. This role is ideal for medical students who want to get more involved in the community, explore mentorship, and build leadership skills while mentoring future physicians from communities underrepresented in medicine.
We’re looking for medical students at any medical school who bring research experience, including health equity research, and a genuine commitment to increasing diversity in medicine. The role is about 5 hours per week. That includes Monday mentor meetings from 6–8 pm ET and time with your assigned research groups. You can also join our Tuesday program sessions with our Massachusetts and Pennsylvania student cohorts. Mentors will gain near-peer teaching experience, leadership skills, and meaningful connections within the health equity field. If you’re ready to invest in the next generation of physicians, we want to hear from you.
