An Immersive Summer in Academic Women’s Health.
Breaking into academic medicine and women’s health research shouldn’t feel out of reach. The UPenn Summer Research in Women’s Health Program is a full-time, residential experience designed to immerse aspiring physicians in obstetrics, gynecology, and health equity—while equipping them with the mentorship, clinical exposure, and research foundation needed to pursue medical school with confidence.
Under the leadership of Dr. Abike James (Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Perelman School of Medicine), and Patients R Waiting, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating health disparities, this program was designed to provide an academic opportunity to eligible students interested in reducing health disparities in the fields of women’s health and obstetrics and gynecology
